So, I'll be honest with you, I was directed to Ping's when I walked all the way from mid-town (About 90 Mins) to eat at DIM SUM VIP on Mott street. See prior review.
But they were closed for some unexplained reason. That landed me at Ping's. 22 Mott Street.
I was pleasantly surprised. Sui Mai was plump, tasty and they offer three different varieties. Shrimp, Pork and Beef.
I had two orders of mixed Shrimp and Pork and an order of fried spring rolls.
All were large, tasty and piping hot. Service was fantastic and price was around 21 bucks before tip.
All around excellent experience. -

Rip off... I want to support my Canto people but these bastids straight up ripped me off. Celebrating my dad's 80th here so my mother made reservations for 15. She wanted to ensure my dad had the King Crab so they brought in a 12lb monster. A 12 pound monster that costed $850. That's $70 a pound!
Sure it was cooked three different ways. Fried, sautéed with garlic over a bed or noodles and fried rice - which were all delicious. But at $70 a pound when other places charge at most $50 was an insult.
Nothing I could have done since my mom handled everything but the $1800 dinner left me broke and only semi satisfied. -

I like this place, only problem is they rush you out of here. They want to turn tables and they rather lose a client vs keeping them.
It was Chinese new year 2/5/2019 and I wanted to celebrate chinese new year with my partner - We got all dressed up and nice - We went there before 7pm and the place was not crowded at all. We sat down we ordered and the dishes came one after another. They did not know how to Coast their food in a timely manner. Our Crab meat soup came in the middle of my meal. Before I can said 'can we have the check", We were hit with a bill - My partner and i can see they were giving people their bill. How rude !!!
P.S. They do that us during Dim Sum on weekends. I been going there for over 8 years. Maybe it time to go to another that doesnt rush you out. maybe like Nah Wah Tea Parlor around the corner. -

-What you need to know in a sentence: reliable dim sum with all the qualities of a traditional Chinatown restaurant
-Ambiance in threeish words: tight, busy, Chinese decor
-Treated like: getting my food- high importance, formalities and niceties- low importance, suggesting dishes- medium importance
-Must try: short ribs, sticky rice
-Other random tidbits: consolidated seating at large tables of course -
